Mental Attitude:  Maintain a Supportive Network For Mental Health:  Social support boosts immunity and helps you manage stress in your life, both of which will keep you healthier.  By keeping several healthy relationships in your life, you’ll have friends to help you through the difficult times and increase your enjoyment of the good time, helping everyone be healthier and enjoy life.  University of British Columbia; Psychological Bulletin, Vol. 130, No. 4

Health Alert:  This Has Been A Problem For More Than A Decade!  “We are very concerned. If the staph continues on its’ present course and develops complete resistence, it places us back in the pre-antibiotic era, when there were enormous outbreaks in the community and in hospitals, with many deaths, and with health care workers becoming infected and dying as well.  After vancomycin, there are no other drugs available.”  Aug 2007 Atlanta Journal, CDC.

Diet:  Kids Can Eat Whatever They Want?  Educated your kids on grocery store foods.  Allow them to pick anything they want as long as it does not have high fructose corn syrup or saturated fats.  With this simple rule your children will see what is healthy and what isn’t.

Exercise: Spinal Pain and Posture:  With every exercise, monitor your lower back and neck posture as too much arch or slouching can lead to back and or neck problems.

Chiropractic: How Long?  Patients often want to know how long they will need chiropractic care.  There are actually 3 levels of care:

  1. Pain Relief: This can range from one visit up to several visits over the course of a few weeks or months depending on the severity of the injury, how fast you recover, if you comply with the out of office care, your age, etc.  Most patients do find some relief within a week or two.
  2. Pain relief with return to normal activities:  Proper tissue function and joint motion are the determining factors for when this level of care ends, not just pain relief.  This may take a little longer and require some in office therapy, traction, and/or exercises (either in the clinic, at your home, or a local gym).
  3. Wellness or maintenance care:  Like eating right and exercising, this type of care is optional with the goal of maintaining proper function and not letting your body “fall into” a chronic pain and dysfunctional cycle.

Wellness/ Prevention:  Choose Your Chiropractor As Your Wellness Coach:  Chiropractors are trained in several areas of health including exercise, diet, nutrition, and prevention of disease.
