One of the more common injuries that we treat in my chiropractic office in Springfield, VA is tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) and golfers elbow (medial epicondylitis). In both of these cases the muscles in the forearm that attach at the elbow become extremely tight from repetitive motions such as typing on a computer all day long. Once the muscles become tight they put excessive stress on the muscle’s tendon causing the tendon to become inflammed and very painful. In addition to receiving Active Release Techniques and Graston Technique to the loosen up the muscles and tendons there are two great stretches to help relieve the muscle pain and tightness. These two stretches use a new stretching aid called the Flex Bar by Theraband. You can purchase the Flex Bar from Amazon.com or from my chiropractic office. I would suggest purchasing the red version of the bar unless you have very strong forearms in that case go with the green version.
